Man! That looked like a lot of fun, and some danged good eats too! (should've saved one of those prawns for bait in one of the deeper holes! lol). I always wanted to make that trip when I lived out there and never got a chance (made a chance) to do it.

That looks like a good time and some great eats. I follow many of your food posts and they either leave me starving hungry or with a bad itch to go fishing right away! Also, I have taken mental note of some of your secret ingredients you carelessly left displayed in the pictures. Butter, soy, cracked black pepper, lime juice and a yet undetermined flavor of "Louisiana" brand seasoning, charcoal, non-stick spray. Are those spam patties in the frying pan? You should have your own cooking show. Just think if you could get paid to go camping, set-up a primitive kitchen and using a few things that are backpacked in, along with wild caught food, do a "gourmet from the trail" show.

Great Pics and thanks for sharing! I'm jealous, not because of your trip, but you eat better on camping trips than I eat at home! Again, thanks looks like fun!

lol don't underestimate spam, its almost as powerful as bacon. I grew up on this refugee staple. One of the advantages of a canoe is that I could carry extra cooking gear and food! Charcoal is efficient plus you don't ever want to put a cheap frying pan over a fire.

Great pics, NF. Looks like a fun trip despite the shortage of stripers. Your spam & rice reminded me of eating spam-musabi (sp?) in Hawaii. Great stuff.
