Do you fish at night for bass?
If so, why do you fish at night?
If not, why do you not fish at night?

I plan on discussing night fishing for bass in the next few weeks and hope that you other night stalkers help me bring the other anglers into one of bass fishing's biggest secrets.

I added a poll to give me a little better understanding why the lake is so empty when the fishing is so good.

When I was younger and did not require regular sleep patterns I seldom bass fished during the day. Me and my buds would fish crappie during the day and when the sun went down we would grab some grub at Vals Restaurant and hit the water about 10pm for some night fishing.
I seldom fish at night now but have found through years of fishing at nights that the peak fishing usually occurs between 11:00pm to 1:00am. I could still stay up that late as long as there is time for a nap after lunch during the day.

I like to fish at night. When I am serious about it I like a black light and Stren line.Their line glows under that light.I dont do much running because I am a big chicken.

From about June tru Sept I night fish due to the daytime heat and all the jet skis/skiers on the water.

Plus like mentioned earlier it's peaceful out there at night.

When I was like 8 years old, my grandfather took me night fishing one time. The wind was really kicking, and I remember being terrified that the boat was going to capsize. In retrospect, it probably wasn't even white capping, but hey, I was just a scared little kid wink

Haven't been night fishing since.

I used to fish a few nights a year on Fork by myself. Would bring a radio and listen to the Ranger's games while fishing.

But I would always be wiped out the following day, and the drive home back to DFW was always dreaded.

Like the concept, but it takes a beating on your body!

Oh to be young again! fish

I've fished nights back in the day, cleaned many a bug from head to toe, bow to stearn, caught many a big bass and crappie, but as I've grown older it just kills me for days afterwards. But what an experience especially when the bite is on.

Good for you Evan. I have had some awesome nights on that lake in late February and early March. When the water hits 52 at night the big gurls are moving in y experience. Look for the low temps to be in the low to mid 60's and get out there and make it happen.
If fishing solo at night always wear your PFD, one bump of a stump and your life could change forever or possibly end.

Bass fishing at night is awesome, especially on a heavily pressured lake like Fork. Not many boats, fish become more active without all the boat comotion. Real chance to catch a giant.
