Took the 19 mile canoe trip down the river for the first time. It was a far paddle but well worth it. I mainly went there to camp and do a little fishing. Only caught catfish and sandbass. I did see some gars and off-colored carp. I don't know if golden algae was the culprit for the lack of quality, but I did not see any huge stripers or LMB's being caught. I did not see alot of dead fish (probably washed down river). Fishing off a canoe was probably a big problem as well plus lack of experience. Anyhow, had a fun time with the woman and the dog. The river was just stunning, even though I got skunked. Going back there next time with a Kayak and start at rochelles.

Scallops and Shrimp during canoe trip? I'm doing the wrong kind of camping. Those boulders pics, above the Camp out part of your pics, My friends and I used to jump off those rocks. Actually only one of those rocks have deep enough water to be safe
