When you guys are jig fishing do you use a single jig or have multiple tied on? I usually have 2 to 3 different colored jigs tied on at first to try and determine what color they are hitting better but then switch to a single jig. What are your guys thoughts on this?

Brush and timber = 1 jig
Bridges = 2 jigs, sometimes, but not often

I'm fish a single jig 90% of the time.

I mostly fish bridges and I'll have 2 jigs on 99% of the time. Duck Jerky's right though, when I fish timber/brush, I stick with 1 jig. Less to loose.

When I fish bridges I put a double rig on and it usually comes off pretty quick. I like to catch fish on the fall and it's harder with a double rig.

From my personal experience:
1 or 2 jigs? it doesnt matter
Top or bottom? it doesnt matter - fish usually bite the bottom
Minnow or Jig? I would say jig when they arent hungry- it covered more area.

Bought 2 of them and tried 1 on Sat. with a 3" Gulp Alive Smelt (like a blk back/light belly minnow) and caught nothing on the jig but 2 good fish on the Gulp. thumb

I have done that. Minnow move the line around and that move the jig for you.

exactly what carter said..bridges i always roll double till i determine depth and color preference..then usually switch to one heavier jig if over 20ft down..if it dsnt seem to matter the color ill leave 2 on if theyre biting well...cause i have actually caught doubles on a few occasions, but if the bite doesnt reflect the need for that ill use the double rig fir figuring out what depth and color
never double rig on other structure like timeber or most brush unless im trolling over the top of a deep pile with fish suspended over the top of the pile

no one's doing triple??? i am gonna try that also just for the hell of it... btw, how far apart? And what's the logic behind for mr. crappie to put minnow on top? either way, will move the jig if minnow is active.
