I was wondering if anyone has this setup or know someone that does. What pitch prop should I be looking at? I has a 25 pitch tempest plus on it now. It doesn't have a Jack plate. What speed should I expect? Running it at ivie this past weekend I could only get it up to 55 on my gps. How does this motor run? It didn't seem to su k down too much gas but I never ran it wide open most of the time. Also does it use a lot of oil? Just kind of wondering what things to expect this boat is new to me and just want to learn more about the setup and stuff. Thanks for any information.

I would guess you should be able to get 63-65mph out of that combination. I have not heard anything bad about the 250XB, other than fuel consumption. Strong motor but pushing a big, heavy boat. It will never be a fast boat, but 60's should be possible.

I have a 2002 522 with the 250 XB Pro.

I have a 24 Trophy Plus with a 6" Bob's hyd jackplate. It will scream on the water and pass everything expect a gas station!

I use Pennzoil 100% Synthetic oil and 93 octane fuel.

Sounds like you may have a power issue. I would get it checked. Not shure about the 2000 model but the later models have coil pack problems.
