Alright guys I'm going back and forth from Dallas to Brownwood, comanche, priddy areas. I stay in Dallas for a week or so and then back. I dont have a boat and there are tons and tons and tons of ponds and tanks I pass when driving. Just curious if anyone would like some company fishing. I don't mind working so that I can fish either.
Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

can't afford that I have a young one on the way and every penny is going for him or her. I just want to do some work on a farm or soemthing and do a little fishing

we hunt in San Saba and there is a city park there that has a stocked pond. I know that the state stocked it with Channel Cat but I've seen some bass in there too(never fished it). You can't launch a boat but you can fish from the bank.

I live in Brownwood and would love to find a place like this to fish as well. I used to love fishing for bass on stock tanks. I've heard of a few around, but every one I've heard of is on private property and I was told by people that have heard that other people fish there but I don't want to go on property unless I know the owner.
I've tried taking my sister fishing at the brownwood state park, but it's hit or miss there.
Also, if you are in Brownwood you can try Riverside Park (on early blvd by the chevy dealership), Fabis Park (go down towards the lake then turn at the coutnry store (grocery store) (it's the road to the dam) and you'll see a sign for it down that road. Also, if you are going down that road you can go all the way down the road and turn right when you get to the stop sign (heading towards the dam) then on your left you will see a little neighborhood / trailer park and there is a dock that you can fish for crappie, it's called Kirkland Dock, and there's always decent crappie fishing (it's a pay dock, something like 3-5 dollars)

Dustin - fish behind the bait store @ Brownwood state Park That's where we fished last time and I had no luck but my girlfriend caught a bunch of crappie and a big channel cat. The water back there only seemed like it was 2-3 feet deep then there was the channel to the boat slips. I checked out the boat slips, but didn't have much luck.

My grandmother has a small 2.2 acre pond in Alvarado that i fish quite often, have caught quite a few channel cat over 8 pounds and it also has bass, crappie, and a ton of brim. Im sure you would be welcome on it if you wanted to drive down.
