Clear water, boat docks and grass everywhere. Pretty much anywhere you go out there you should be able to catch something. The only part of the lake I have never had any luck on is on the other side of the bridge by the boat ramp.

Head towards the dam and pick any of the coves on your left and you should be fine. Fish shallow for lots of small bass and move out to 8-10 feet and fish slow for bigger ones. Any plastic in watermellon/red and chart/wht spinners, red rattle traps.
Hoep that helps you out some.

split shot fluke and a drop shot on the edge of grass will produce 20-50 fish a day out there.

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

around goat island is really starting to heat up, lots of points, drops ect, my suggestion would be a light carolina rig with a watermelon red fluke or a spyder grub

U only need three baits right now. A lipless crank, t-rig(red, watcandy, pumpkin), and a fluke( I been throwing a watermelonred w/ chart spikeit on the end). If ur trying for a limit for a tourney throw that fluke shallow for unders then go to the middle of the creeks w/ hydrilla and fish the t/rig in 4-8 ft for ur overs. Work it slow.

This is Hydrilla:

There's no hydrilla in Athens.

But there is a ton of this stuff:

Just wish folks would stop calling every aquatic plant hydrilla, because hydrilla is a non-native invasive species that for some reason gets eradicated in just about every lake where it gets really good and I don't want anyone touching the grass on Athens! hammer

There are no spots on Athens, anywhere you wet a hook will get you bit (I'm barely being sarcastic).
