It's been several years since I've been on ol' Mother Hubbard but have read here lately about stories of vehicle breakin's and since I now have moved baby from storage in east texas and fished in the Fork/Holbrook/Hawkins/Quitman I'm kinda out of touch with the scene at Hubbard and Lavon. I live in the 190/78 area of G-town and was wondering if the 66 ramp in Rockwall is a good place to launch and hope to expect the truck still has it's wheels on it when I get back to it, course I would also like to listen to Toby Keith on the way home as well. Alot is going to depend on what the wife wants to do, if she wants to go crappie fishing we will prolly go to Lavon's Mallard cove which is and old fav. But I would really like to explore the upper end of Hubbard but maybe another day, I've heard alot about the river but will wait until I get more famillar to that end of the lake. I do have some old places that were productive in years past between I30 and 66 so thought about the green fish there. Main thing is I want to make sure I have something to get home in. What do you guys think?

66 ramp is good. It has two ramps only one is good. Get there real early and leave early. The jet fleas and ski boats take over that place. If you want to pay you can go to Chandlers Landing Marina in Rockwall.

definately, look foward to it. maybe can get the gps coord's on the widowmaker I hear so much about. Just realized I left the wife's minner bucket in east texas we maybe makin a trip to Academy tonite, oh well might be a good time to shop for a new crankin battery as well. The ol' everstart is 4 years old but charged up ok. fingers crossed. eeks just replaced the trollers but sam's didn't have a high enough crankin amp one that suited me.

I think chandlers charges 10 dollars. Not sure about membership.

66 ramp... If you are looking at the ramps it is the right one. The left one does a sharp drop off.(good for launching only)

I was on the lake today. 66 ramp was empty when I launched(11:30am) and was packed at 4:30 when I got off the lake..

They were prolly getting ready to party tonite. We'll more than likely be off the lake by mid-afternoon tomorrow. Thanks for the info. Momma's hungry so gotta go feed her. Many thanks guys.

chandlers.. i was there today looking at the water and watching the boats. $200 annual pass, $15 weekend, $10 weekday launch.

66 ramp. the ramp on the north side of the courtesy dock is the better one for bass boats. the 2 on the south side are very steep. watch the rebar sticking up about 60 yards off the end of the ramp. theres something hard(rock/concrete) down there.

They have armed security???? hmmm might be worth it.

Really thanks guys think we're gonna shoot for the 66 ramp and definately stay away from the rebar (not good).

I see What you guys are talking about. I had the opportunity to launch and load on the north ramp. I also saw the steep pair to the south. In fact saw a guy with a Skeeter load and the first time he pulled up it was sitting sidways. He backed down and got it straight after we loaded and locked down before I could offer to help and even suggest to move to the other ramp. Also witnessed some idiocity boat ramp etiquette. Man I now remember how choppy that thing can get when the wind is out of the south. Wasn't too bad when we first got out there but later was interesting.

To be completely safe at Chandlers Landing. Worth $10 and security. I was with a guy at Dalrock North Ramp for maybe 2 hours and when we got back all the vehicles had been smashed and dashed. Middle of the day.
