Thanks for all of your support for Lock-n-Haul. We have grown to 46 dealers in 13 states and we continue to hear positive reports about the benefits of using the only device available that will completely stabilize your outboard motor while your boat is on the trailer. We have recently included a photo gallery on the website at http://www.lock-n-haul.com/photogallery.html , and we want to include your pictures. Please email your pictures to sales@lock-n-haul.com, and please be sure to ask your favorite dealer to stock the very best outboard motor travel stow available.

I would if I would have taken a picture of it before someone stole it. It was kind of funny, while I was mad as all get out,,,, they only stole my Lock-n-haul that night in the motel parking lot at Rayburn. Guess they knew it was so good it could be sold easily to someone. I'm going to engrave "Stolen from,,, name and phone number on the next one I get. That reminds me, I need to order another one before the long haul to Amistad this month. For those that have Ranger trailers, this is the best transom saver I have ever found!!

It is amazing to me what people will steal! It shouldn't surprise me anymore but it does. If it isn't yours and you didn't work for it LEAVE IT ALONE, someone else worked to buy it or make it or whatever the case may be to get it for themselves.

I was walking out to the boat that morning and thought to myself how something just didn't look right with the motor. Then, it hit me that my motor was tilted all the way down. I don't know why they lowered the motor, except to make me aware of the fact that it was gone.

Had a buddy order one for a 05/09 triton/etec combo. His skeg was to close to the ground, it would have bottomed out in ditches/culberts ect... He gave it to me to try 2010 triton/merc combo and I couldn't get it to stay in posistion against the motor mount. Fulled with it for 30min then while lowering the trim for the 1000th test it bent one of the legs on the thing.

I am very sorry that this happened to you, and want to assure you that I am working to solve this issue. This has happened several times in the last year, but out of the thousands that I have shipped since 2006, there have been less than ten that have had this issue.
In a few of these cases we discovered that the unit was installed incorrectly and actually adjusted and fit into the wrong features on the motor.
We have made an extra effort to give good written instructions both on the website and on the inside of the package hangtag on every unit sold.
One of the most critical steps about using the 4-point inline load system is that the device is actually loaded with all four points as equally as possible.
The best way to insure that this occurs is to hold the cupped ends on the flange bolt heads, and then slowly guide the rounded ends into the pocket features on the motor mount. By doing this you can see that all four points contact at the same time.
Then before you load the tubes turn the steering each way until you can determine that the steering is pretty well centered with all four points touching. When you follow this procedure you will find that you can then use the power tilt to wedge the device in securely, and you cant bend the tubes by putting too much force on them.
What we think happens is that the motor is not straight and only three points are in solid contact when the power tilt is lowered. At this point a steering torque condition occurs that appears to be a solid installation, but when a jolt causes the motor to swivel it introduces a hammer effect to the tube that is not solid.
Another important feature is that the retaining lanyard be wrapped around the main tilt piston so that the cable length will keep the device from reaching the pavement and coming completely off if it does become dislodged.
I hope this helps answer this question and I want to assure you all that I will stand by the Lock-n-Haul all the way, and try hard to help you have the same confidence that thousands of satisfied customers all over the United States, Canada and Mexico share with me.
Jim

Jim Well it's my buddies, he bought it online from Crucial Tackle, im sure he would like a refund since it would not keep his skeg high enough off the ground, BUT I bent the thing, id gladly mail it back for him if a refund is possible.

These units work just fine. I've had one for over two years now and haven't had any issues. It is very important to make sure the motor is straight before you lower the motor down onto the Lock-n-Haul. After I lower my motor down then I will see if there is any play in the motor. If you have it installed correctly, the boat and trailer will shake.
I'll send some pics Jim.

I purchased one of these at the Lake Waco Bud-Lite Tournament and I could not be happier, durable, compact, easy to use, does what its supposed to do.Whats not to like about this product. Great invention, reasonably priced. I think if it comes off you might want to check out your trim. Thumbs up!!!
