Okay, so it's getting to be that time of year. No matter if you throw Pop-R's, Zell Pops, Yellow Magics, (choose your weapon) what do you think about the size? it seems most only come in 1/4 ounce, but they make the Yellow Magics in 1/2 ounce size. How many of you throw the bigger bait? Is it the bigger bait/bigger fish theory? Is there any difference in action or how many bites? Do the other companies even make the larger sizes? Educate me please.

I fish the bigger magic. Pop r makes a large and small as well the magic is a more finesse bait to many people try to make it chug ice learned to twitch it lightly to make it spit lightly. Fork fish love the yellow magic magnum for sure I was sold on them after 5 fish 5+# in 30 minutes last spring.

I have a 1/2 ounce YM. Tonight I saw a 3/8 ounce Zell Pop at BPS and bought it. I'll be throwing both this Sunday. We'll see.

I have found that at times the bass will react different to these top water baits. The yellow magic produces a lot fo fish. I also like the skitter walk, has a different sound.

Well here are the results of my throwing the bigger 3/8 ounce Zell Pop in Sexy Shad on Ray Roberts. The first picture is a 5-10 I caught pre-fishing last Sunday. The two fish I am holding in the second picture were caught in our tournament yesterday. We ended up finishing second and got big bass of 5.55 thanks to the bigger Zell Pop. Nothing like having big fish hammer a top water bait!

Good Fish

The funny thing is I went up in Indian on Saturday and threw a Magnun Yellow Magic from 6:30 to 7:00 and never got a swirl or a bite.
