Weather happens, he offered to reschedule, not a problem there. If he has other customers booked, he cant cancel on them just to get you in ASAP. Now, once you asked for a refund, the money should have been refunded in full.

I would make a personal visit long before this point. Your being played and shouldn't be so tolerant.
Most Guides assume a (self perceived)position, they arent the final authority in what they do.
Go get your money!

I would demand my money immediately. Then, if YOU decide to go at a later date, YOU can try and reschedule with him. That is YOUR money, not his. If he copped an attitude before he performed his services, he wouldn't have to worry about rescheduling with me. Maybe your just too nice and patient.

I had a problem with a guide one time with regard to getting my money refunded for a trip he cancelled on me at the last minute (after I had made an 8 hour drive to get there). It took me a little while but I finally got my deposit back....never came out and bashed him on TFF although I was threatening to do so. I have warned others about him via PM when asked since and would never book with him again for this very reason. Otherwise, never had any problems with any other guides.

Prolly just my bad fortune. Not trying to give the guy a bad name, just needed advice. I have no hard feelings toward the guy. But some of yalls views are the same as mine. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't alone on that. I'll keep y'all posted as to when the situations resolved. On the bright side, I look toward to doing some fishing this weekend. (much needed)

i would just file a claim with paypal... thats why we use paypal.. they will get your money back. that saves you and the guide a lot of talk between each other that could cause more problems.

You should of still called him out. Dont think he would of got your money back if he had not read your post. Which is bad to start with.

reshedule another day and hope you didnt piss him off? Who are you kidding? Its the customer that pays his bills! that guide should bend over backwards to keep business, especially in this economy. If he doesnt refund your money, please post his name so no one else gets ripped off

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Hopefully lessons learned by both the guide and the client.
First, never pay the full price especially if you've never used the guide before!
Secondly, the guide should always keep the customer happy no matter what it takes, even if the customer may be wrong!
I'm not saying anyone was right or wrong, and I'm speaking in general terms, since we've only heard one side of the story, but I'm glad it's finally resolved!
