The first prototype rods did have a carrot extract or fiber. But those rods never made ot to the market. They use a type of nano fiber along with graphite but the orange color is the claim to fame so they kept it. Search it on tackletour.com I am sure you can find some good info on them there.

I have broke 3 on hook sets flipping with them over the past 3 years. I just take the broke rod to the local store that sell them and pay $20 for shipping and then get a new one right then. I love them...they are light and you can feel everything. I have caught some good fish (8's and 9's)using them.

very comfortable to fish with but WEAK! Broke the 6'11" medium heavy higher end rod setting the hook. It broke in 2 places. Bass Pro replaced it and now I'm just waiting for the new one to break.

Are they cheaper, lighter, stronger than a Cara?
Have seen them on the rack, but have never fished with one.

yeah i remember reading on i think it was Bassfan.com, that Boyd Duckett had said that e21 was building them right then the company changed hands or something, but the new people in charge cut some corners to mass produce them cheaper and the quality went down hill and that is why he seperated himself from the company

They aren't worth the trouble and the whole idea was unsound to start with.

I wonder how big the fish were that broke your rod's .... that's the part that I can't handle and reason I will never own another carrot after the problem's I have had with them. Once found myself in line with another guy at bass pro shop's and we were both returning broken carrot's while looking in disbelief at the buggy full of broken carrot's behind the customer service desk.JUNK !!!!!!!!!!

I'm not one to bash anyone's product, but I'm with Buzz...
I fished around several off the shelf rods, and the Cara has
been a good one for me. If it ain't broke.....don't fix it.
On the other hand, Mike Soriano uses them, and I know he
'uses' them. Just one of those deals where you compare
brands I guess. I'm a Falcon guy, and see no reason to change.
I have no reason to promote Falcon, I just 'use' them.
