My sister and I fished from 1 :00 to about 5:30 and did very good on whites and had 2 hybrids. I'm guessing 30 to 35 whites, all magnums. We were in the crappie island area and left them biting in search of more hybrids. Noluck there. The hybrids we caught were 1 right at 18 " threw it back and 1 approx. 7 lbs. All caught in 18' or less. Baits were Bomber Long -A with a pet trailer. Very little traffic..Nice day!

Congrats on a great day. Those hybrids are tons of fun aren't they ? Were you in the area I was in ? What kind of boat? We had three other boats close by but they left and we had it all to ourselves.

Plugger....If it was "48", it WAS a striper. Either way, it was one heck of a fish!

He referred to it as in a 48 in cooler...
that means he kept it as it was over 18 inches plugger see above post, head was in one end and tail was half way up the side in the other.
doubt anybody has caught a pure striper in CC in a long time, they were stocked many years ago, but they hybrids have been the fish of choice for stocking there for some time.

We need to know about your cooler. 48 inches long? 48 Quart? If your cooler is 48 inches long that fish had to be way over 12 lbs. I would think.

I am satisfied that it is a 48 ouart cooler, there are millions of them out there, forgot waht they measure, but I have a 90 and a 100 I use and the do not even measure up to 48 inches.
Nice fish regardless, sounds like it was at least 24 inches and maybe more.
Dang, a typo or something else causes a stir, it was a 48 quart cooler, i bet a dollar to the donut. Is this really that confusing?
He wrote he was too pumped up to spell or type correctly in the same post,,,,,go re read it....

Weird that you got a striper, I thought they were not stocked in there since 1974 and if they were and it was one pound, then either it got dropped in there as an undersized fish, was mixed in with hybrids when stocked, they have reproduced in the lake, or it was a genetic freak, like the L4 that is in there, or it was a yellow bass,,,,,who knows, you know what you caught, but it was and is my understanding that stripers have not been put in the lake in a long long time.
Not doubting you at all.

Sure reads to be "..48 in cooler..." to me, Shadbury. No mistake. I have a 150-quart Igloo that measures 38" end to end. Thought maybe he had an upright freezer laying on its back. Just giving him the benefit of the doubt, no "stir" intended. Anyway, haven't caught anything big enough in a few years to be able to use that 150-quart Igloo. BTW, I did know from reading his post that he kept it. I think the tail half way up the side of the cooler sorta clued us in, didn't it?
