Want to start running some Jug lines. I understand the main line can hold up to 5 hooks . How do the hook lines attach to the main line?

I use 4- 5 feet apart if u use the 3 feet apart you will have one tangled up mess. I pour cement in 32 oz dixie cups with part of coat hanger to make a loop inserted at top with a way to tie to. running more tha 2 hook will require two people to keep from tangles.

i found that buying a cheap trotline is the easiest way and the lines are already set with swivels just cut it into whatever length you want and add weight.

I have best luck just running a short 3 or 4 foot line, one circle hook and chunk of fresh shad, no weight or anything, just let em drift with the wind. but you have to stay with them this way, cant leave them and come back later. works really well on shallow flats though, have caught some nice blues up to 30lbs this way

I run five hooks and loop tie them onto the string and I use the tarred line string thats black. I put on atleast a five pound weight. Oh and if you decide to run five hooks I will say I run them bymyself as my boss drives the boat and if you put the jug in front of you and end up with the weight beside you it will help keep out tangles.
