Does anyone know of a transducer that will read through an aluminum hull?

Never tried it personally but always heard they would not. Might try posting down in the boats and motors section, maybe one of those guys have first hand knowledge.

Can't pass through metal, only fiberglass and wood I believe

I did it in my Xpress. Worked great. I just used the lowrance skimmer transducer.

I bought this one for my boat and it works fair at best. It beats drilling holes in my transom and ripping tranducers off in the timber though. It does a fair job at slow speeds but does loose the bottom at 30mph and up.
