A friend of mine 2 houses down has a 30 yr old 2 acre pond. The water color is never clear always seems to be muddy and a little milky lookin.Thers a drilling rig sitting 20 yrds away and they have pulled water from it a few times but it never gets too low.It seems to be 15 to 20 ft deep at full.Been fishing there about 6 or 7 times recently and have caught lots of bass and crappie.Problem is the bass are all about half a pound with no color at all and the crappie are all 8 inches long.I ve only caught one or two over a pound and im a helluva angler lol.im figuring too many and not enough to eat right? So i got permission to take a bunch out and put into a neighboring pond with nothing in it.whats the next step, should we buy a crapload of minnows to put in it or what. And will the bass always be stunted or can they grow

The lack of color in the bass is most likely due to the water turbidity.

The crappie are the "X" factor in your situation. They very rarely succeed in a pond that small...almost never. There are exceptions, but very few. You will likely always be plagued with small crappie unless you start over.

The LMB need forage and lots of it to grow. By removing the small ones you have made whatever forage is left available to fewer bass which should help.

What is the BG situation like in this pond? Size and distribution.

Adding minnows is basically throwing your money away...it may make you feel good but it won't do much for the bass. It takes 10 pounds of forage to add one pound of weight to a bass. You need lots of forage if you want the bass to grow(much more than a "crapload") and with the crappie in there competing for small forage it is going to be difficult.
