If theyre not sharp enough get some new hooks. I dont think you can possibly sharpen a hook as well as a factory can.

Has anyone really put them to the test on a big fish, say over 8lbs? Yep and with success, 8.75 and had a 6.70 same day same hooks.

For as much as they cost I wouldnt put another dime into them. For me its one of those lures that everyone else catches fish and I cant seem to even get a bite.

Triple grip #4 on front, and feathered #6 triple grip on back. Don't lose many, and if the action is changed, I sure can't tell. Lots of bites anyway. Use the extra short shank #4 and tangles will be minimal. I bet the KVD mustads will be good too, just haven't tried them myself. I'd say use what works for you. IMO the stock hooks are junk. Seems everyone has a different opinion/experience. I like triple grips.......... Good fishin'.. Jim

Has anyone really put them to the test on a big fish, say over 8lbs? Hooks do bend...and yes, I have caught several fish over 8 lbs on a yellow magic...never have found a hook that I did not feel changed the way the bait worked in the water.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

You don't even have to work it back to the boat. Just chunk it out there and FISH ON! Reel em in. HA! Those hooks are so sharp my buddy got one righT thru the finger with a small fish on the other end, not to fun for him. Brand new boat and no pliers or side cutters. So I had to perform surgery on him with a pocket knife. He always has pliers now and so do I cause I don't want him to ever repay me!

Has anyone really put them to the test on a big fish, say over 8lbs? had a 9.5#, 23-15/16" at the skeeter owners tourney last year on fork on a yellow magic. i put some pretty good pressure on her, and she jumped twice.. hooks bent a little, but not more than expected.

Has anyone really put them to the test on a big fish, say over 8lbs? I had a 10+ break the hook on a Yellow Magic on El Salto this year. I still use the originals as long as I can though.
