I change out hooks on most baits to a larger size. I use Owner hooks.

Great. I just changed mine out. Those hooks just dont feel sharp. Put a triple grip on the front. Left the hook on the back until I find a hook with a better feather. I like the feather that comes with it.

Yes, the original ones bend pretty easily. I like to take the old Xcaliber hooks (I think they are called 7deg bend hooks) off old Smithwick rouges(SP). They work very well. Hook just about anything that touches them. As for the back hooks, I have a guy make me some with extra long feathers and better hooks. Not sure about the brand.

The yellow magic hooks bend super easy, they got nothing on an owner hook.

I leave mine on until they are mangled beyond repair. Then I replace them with Lucky Craft hooks. These hooks are feather light, just like the Yellow Magics are and dont bend near as easy.

Changing hooks changes the action. You used to could get the original hooks at Fun N Sun.

no..nothing wrong with the ones that come on them. They are super sharp. If they bend, bend them back with some needle nose pliers. When I do replace them, I replace them with the Yellow magic replacement hooks. Those hooks bring big fish to the boat...
