I want to take my son someplace that I fan fish for some bg while also fishing for some cats. He likes to fish for catfish as long as he is catching, so I figured find a place we can fish for catfish and then fish for BG as well, he will have a blast catching them and wont care if he even gets a bite for the cats. Any ideas, going to use worms and corn for bait for the BG

Ive tried Chisam and the boys club and to be honest, I prefer taking my kids to Lake Grapevine around the boat houses. No catfish but they pull in blue gills faster than I can bait the hooks.

Your going to have to wait until its to hot to fish, that is when my kids have the most fun. Find a boat house with ramps and concentrate on the shaded areas. They will be reeling them em as fast as you can take them off.

They are not big ones but to them they are huge...

By the way Meadowmere park has some boat houses and the shore line is pretty good for small kids.

another good place (believe it or not) is a little creek by I-10 right next to an apartment complex past bell helicopter headed east on 10. I used to fish from the park adjacent to it or right off of hwy 10 in the afternoons and caught tons of sunfish, and a few bass mixed in all the way to 3lbs. also if you follow the creek on the south side of 10 it runs into a 15 or so acre pond that is also some good fishing behind a neighborhood. Good luck and I hope this helps.
