Buddy fished it yesterday, had 13 keepers over 12 inches and several 15 inchers. All fish were caught on black and green grubs. Fish were located in 4-8 feet of water on a main lake point. All fish had eggs.

I live so close to that lake but never fish it if I'm after cats or crappie b/c I like to keep a few. The warnings are pretty stern on that lake as far as consumption. It still be fun to get in to em anyway. What about him; is he keeping them?

We have talked to a bunch of people that eat the fish out of that lake, I was a little hesitate at first, we ate a some sand bass we caught up in the river last year, thats the only fish we have eaten. Were not dead yet, We are going to eat these crappie this weekend. I cleaned them last night and they looked very healthy and clean. I dont know, I dont think im going to make a habit out of it.

I've heard it's a good crappie lake. The crappie should be fine to eat, but I wouldn't eat the catfish from there.

Folks need to learn a few things about "Long Term" effects Worth has always been a real good crappie hole, problem is the boys up on the hill have gotten away with dumping "All Things Military" into that fishen hole.
If one struggles with reason and logical thought patterns then chow down on them nice white nuggets. Posting Obituaries in the local rag are pretty expensive
So . . . .

So . . . . Im with you on this one gonefish. Convair, GD,Lockheed have all had there turn at dumping. Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) Persons should not consume any species of fish from these waters

Humans The most commonly observed health effects in people exposed to extremely high levels of PCBs are skin conditions such as chloracne and rashes, but these were known to be symptoms of acute systemic poisoning dating back to 1922. Studies in workers exposed to PCBs have shown changes in blood and urine that may indicate liver damage. In Japan, 1968, 280 kg of PCBs contaminated rice bran oil used as chicken feed, resulting in a mass poisoning known as Yushō Disease in over 14,000 people.[38] Common symptoms included dermal and ocular lesions, irregular menstrual cycles and a lowered immune response.[39][40][41] Other symptoms included fatigue, headache, cough, and unusual skin sores.[42] Additionally, in children, there were reports of poor cognitive development.[39][41][42] There have also been studies of the health effects of PCBs in the general population and in children of mothers who were exposed to PCBs.
From what I have researched, the lavels in lake worth are not nearly as high as they used to be. In my opinion proffesional opinion, for what its worth 1 or 2 meals a year is not going to hurt ya.
