I am looking to buy a new boat. What other brands have a boat that is in comparison to the Nitro Z7?

Ranger, Triton, Basscat, and Skeeter have boats in the 18-19 ft range with outboards from 150hp to 200hp.

Someone else had the smae question a while back. You might be able to find the post. I believe it was in the Boat & Equip section. Look for Nitro in the title. There was a pretty extensive debate. Personally I am biased towards the better boats after having 2 bad ones. Just depends on how long you plan to keep it and what you want to spend. I myself would prefer not to deal with BPS.

Go back and look at the Z-7. The improvements Nitro has made in the last couple of years in style, features and fit are outstanding.
Compare them feature for feature, quality for quality, and price for price with any of the others in the same size boat and you will probably be back to buy the Z-7, or if you just have to spend more money go with the Z-8! Sweet ride.

I would be more concerned with the things that you cannot see. Durability in a hull is not something that an untrained or even a trained eye might detect. Nitro has cut something somewhere to get to the price point they are at.

Yup they cut the BS in marketing out of theyre stratagie. theyre sells are thru the roof right now they cant even be kept on floors in most places. They did not cut anything out its still a boat and used by some of the best in the bussiness just cant wait till 2011 when more boat companys plunder because theyre robbery tactics.

Might want to look at a Phoenix Boat. The Beeline series is a top of the line boat at a low price point. I bought a Beeline two years ago when they first came out and get compliments everytime I go out. Boat is better built than most especailly for the price!
