BTW, how do you go about getting one registered for a trolling motor since they are "home" built so to speak? Of course I'd need one with your longer pontoons.

Not trying to butt in but you will need a HIN (Hull Identification Number) that is stamped or etched into the frame, and a title of some sort. I went through this last year with my pontoon. Check the link to the TPWD site below.

Yeah, I checked in to that and it gets complicated. I dont think I want to send the product out "trolling motor ready" but I have some ideas that will make it really easy for a buyer to install post sale.

just found this thread. so the size is now like 47x58 you said? do the pontoons ding easily? does it come with everything shown in the latest pics youve posted of it or is it just pontoons and seat? this thing looks badass, any pictures of it in action? thanks

My purpose behind the design was to have a craft that was: light, inexpensive, repairable, easy to manuever, able to keep my behind dry, not inflatable and easy to add attachments to. So far so good. My personal floatpro has been thrown in the back of my pickup too many times to count in the last few months. It does has a few dings in the foam but nothing more than cosmetic and easily painted over if I wanted to make it look new again. (The paint is Home Depot exterior paint and I give the mix recipe to anybody that wants it.) It comes with a seat and a drink holder. Dry boxes and rod holders are $12 each installed. god that thing looks so sweet. is it tippy side to side or front to back or fairly stable? do you know what the draft is? if its just exterior paint from home depot then the owner could paint it whatever they wanted right? the foam is covered in fiberglass right?

and are the rod holders the scotty fly rod holders?

It's very stable in all directions and the draft depends on your weight and pontoon length. The one in the picture has 4'-8" pontoons. I weigh 220#s and it drafts about 5-6 inches. Most every body who has tried it say it's the most comfortable kickboat they've ever been in. The foam is not covered with fiberglass. It makes the float too heavy and too expensive. I do offer a 12" wide fiberglass strip on the bottom for an additional $40 upgrade. I use epoxy on glass cloth. The rod holders are A P Products brand. I can leave those off if you prefer Scotty.

is the drink holder like cut into the pontoon? like flush mount so to speak? and his website says theyre 185

Yes, the drink holder is actually just a hole drilled through the plywood and into the foam several inches. Makes for good insulation.


$185 for the 5 footer. The price increases slightly with longer pontoon lengths.

For those who might want to take their kids along, my 9 year old loves to go with me and can manuever a 4 footer with little effort. He's so light he can actually kick around faster than I can.
