lol thanks...what was funny is I usually catch (and throw back) crappie while castnetting in this particuliar spot, and that day I had caught prolly half a dozen undersized crappie prior to this shad, so when I was bringing up the net I thought I finally caught a decent sized crappie lol. Although since with a a castnet it is catch and release anyways, it was kind of cooler to catch a 14" shad rather than a same sized crappie.

The girlfriend caught the catfish, that is her biggest fish to land...she had a big yellow cat take our canoe for a ride when crappie fishing in the Navasota, but it eventually straightened the hook at the side of the boat...

Man did you fillet that bad boy lol ive caught a school like that before in a cast net well 8 that big and a bunch of "normal" size ones.
