I was out at Buffalo Sunday before last and fished for a couple hours and didn't do any good. However I talked to a friend of mine that was there also and he had been there all day and only had 2 crappie and couple of channel cat. Did see a guy catch a nice crappie out of a boat along the dam while I was there but nothing else.

I have a feeling the buffalo crappie will be spawning deep this spring. I think I will try taking the boat and fish it at night with a green light and see what happens.

Warrior, good to see the forum is still attracting people and thanks for the input.

I would really like to have a big turn out Sunday, I hope you can make it.

I was thinking about heading out today, but it hasn't warmed up much. I bet the river would be off the hook for some cats with all the rain we got. Might have to give that a try instead.

I've heard reports of people catching 7 or 8 cats in the morning from the river the last few days so they've been biting.

I wonder how deep the rain pushed the crappie back to. I may be going out to fish tomorrow or friday- any idea how deep they've been staying at since the rain?

I was catching them off of the damn in 2-6 ft on roadrunners and jigs.

I've never fished the dam from the bank, might need to try that.

I am assuming BNV is talking about the dam at Lake Arrowhead, I may be wrong.

I'm thinking of heading to Arrowhead on Saturday but it's been years since I have been there. Where are the best places for crappie or catfish?
