Not much of a fisherman but when I googled the foam. It showed all the thred's being posted on here about it! Anyone know what this stuff is? My turkey roostin' tree was thirty feet underwater! I made a joke on camera that the only thing is was roostin' was a bass yesterday mornin'!

That's due to the Golden Algae I believe...

and I'm thinkin' from ya'lls report's that's not good for the fish huh! If it's PK then why are they letting it into the Brazos which flow's to Granbury! Wouldn't that hurt 2 lakes instead of one?

It's a big giant fish kill. Not sure as to why they are releasing it other then if the Dam at PK is a spillway then they can't control it...

Because they are stupid. really that about sums it up. They do this everytime the algae comes back.
I guess i can understand the thought opening the gates is kind of like flushing the toilet. It will flush it out of the system the only down fall is it hurts every other water way it passes. Wish they could find away to tackle it and remove it while it is in PK and PK only.

But to answer the question above the dam is a dam not spillway, they have to open several gates to let that much of this stuff out at once.

I've heard it was phosphorus from the lake. Not the golden algae

I vote for phosphorus. when our creek floods it foams, even the bar ditches foam some. Nothing like the above pic, but then that's a whole lot more water.

No problem I figured ya'll would find it interesting. Like I said I'm not much of a fisherman! I'm prostaff for a hunting company and just had to turn it into a photo shoot! I wonder if it is the cause of the turkey's being MIA yesterday! I'm sure with the river that high they moved onto higher ground!
