We drove out to the river this morning hoping to get a view of the Hwy 16 Bridge. The closest we could get was PK Dam. Wow...what a sight! Talk about a (scary) fast float! It looked like the foam was piled up against the side of the bridge and every so often we could see something going ACROSS the bridge! I zoomed in on the pictures later and it looks like a road grader?
Pretty incredible sight.

Look close and you will see something on the bridge about half way across.

Road Grader????

D&S thanks for the great pics. Thats amazing. Thats got to be a sobering ride to drive that grader across the bridge with that much water pushing against it. My wife and another couple canoed the river with it way up like this about 22 years ago. There was a fast current but nothing like this.

well the algae comes from the lake so you would think it would let more algae into the river. But Im not sure

Yeah, I'm afraid it will spread it throughout the upper and middle brazos basin. Maybe it'll flush it out though.

Golden Algae is already spread throughout the upper/middle Brazos basin. It is only toxic when conditions set up right and it really blooms, choking out the blue & green algae from growing and aerating the water. I think that the amount of water coming in from all the creeks will help dilute the water coming from the lake.

I know it will be great to help end the bloom on PK, and i would think it should help the isolated blooms on the river as well.

Hey fishingWOT, if you are from SD and have yak'd La Jolla, you need to try this stretch of the Brazos (if you haven't already). It's beautiful and there's nothing like it in San Diego. I moved to TX 3 years ago and was amazed fishing the Brazos...

Hey Fishybiz, I actually just moved back to Fort Worth from Miramar, and had the pleasure to fish the Brazos by the dam before the bloom. I love it out there! And I definitley agree, nothing in San Diego like it at all. And if there was they would charge you daily admission, have all sorts of rules etc etc. Its good to be home haha.

I attempted to go to the river just to meet a wall of foam at the 16 bridge about ten feet high!
