My mom, another friend, and myself are gonna try to go fishing Saturday. I was just wandering what would be a good place to go. I've tried Joe Pool and Ray Hubbard.. They are DEAD. I just wanna get into some nice crappies. Thinking about either Bardwell or Tawakoni... Need suggestions, any help is deeply appriciated. Thanks!!

I fish at (Joe Pool Lake) Lynn Creek Marina barge often...they have their day...on and off. However, when it is on like last week...I go thru 5 dozen minnows in 1 day 6am-10pm. Lots of dinkers, but hey, it is fun thou. Bam-Bam-Bam all day long- on jigs or minnows!!! They even bite my stationary jigs, when I set down the pole for a drink and snack. Last couple of days has been extremely slow. Caught few dinkers and few keepers. I think the cold front has something to do with the slowness this week.

heres an alternate thought..stay out of the barges this time of year...walk the banks w long pole..waders if you got em. north end of lavon, hubbard, tawakoni, LL, and RR all have decent access and are doing well right now. my bet is that will put more keepers in the basket than any barge in town right now. i dont know when the last time i saw a real good barge report was.. maybe some of the shallow barges at twak would be good by now..but id be beating up the banks rather than hoping for the best at a barge...hope the idea helps..good luck

Hey Pat , is that where you are going on Sat.? Give me a call if you are heading that way. The weatherman said it is going to rain on Sat. I was thinking the barge might not be a bad idea for fishing in the storm.
Pete.

Man it's been a while since I been on here. Just been kinda busy. But we were gonna go to Lewisville but my mom doesn't like driving in hard rain. So we went to Cedar Hill State Park. did pretty good. Split between 3 of us we had 20 dinks with 5 keepers I caught the biggest one going 1.6lbs and 14in. Also caught my first crappie on one of my homemade JIGS!! It was a good feeling, would've been better if it was a keeper though. LOL
