I'm with you on that Dillon. Classy gentleman. Making the Classic in his final year of competitive fishing would be awesome! At this rate, he'll be in the post season, too! Let's hope he can stay on a roll. To practice and fish all day at his age is amazing. We should all be so fortunate.

Me too. There isn't a nicer guy out there. Would be a sweet cap to a long career. It's nice to see him keeping up with the young guys.

I fished with Guy back in 1988 on Kerr Reservoir (Buggs Island Lake) in Virginia as an amatuer back when BASS has the Top 100 Pro-Am tourneys going strong.
Guy caught over 18 lbs the first day in the Creek behind Clarks Marina in Clarksville. He was a master with the spinnerbait and carried at least 100 in big zip lock plastic bag. He had made them himself, and went on to market them under the name of the Heart Eaker. He was truly a professional, never talked, but acted in all the right ways. He never lipped any of theose 5 pounders but instead, the fad was to winch them in skiing them to the boat on the top, then hoist them over the rail and into the boat. I watched him lose a 6 pounder that way, it never bothered him or at least I couldn't tell.

Back in the days of the TOP 100, I fished with "MR" Eaker in the LA DELTA. After fishing we had dinner with the wives, they are a super couple. I'm sad to hear that she is having some medicial problems. Open Webster's Dictionary look up SOUTHERN GENTLEMEN and there is a picture of Guy. Foot note: we both cashed a check! BEST OF LUCK!

What I can say about him is I was amazed watching him fish in the Clear Lake tourney (on tv - wasn't actually there! ) and seeing how young and spry he looked. He really didn't look 70 at all and I really hope I'm in as good shape when I'm 70 as he apparently is and still fishing as strong!!!
Toads for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

He sure has aged well. Wish him the best of luck in his last year.
