 Any Gators in Joe Pool?

TFF Members,
I have noticed an increase in the number of photos posted of reptiles with long noses and healthy teeth.
Most of the gator pictures have been from East Texas impoundments. Do we have any gators in the metropolitan area?
I'm more interested in JP than any other lake.

when impounded,this whole area was a nature hotspot. Everything imaginable was displaced by the new lake. Gators would not surprise me at all at Joe Pool

there are gators in almost every lake in north texas.

there are gators in almost every lake in north texas. +1 Lake Worth has warning signs posted along Casino Beach.

I remember a couple years ago reading about someone saying they saw one swimming in the state park but who knows if was true or not.

If memory serves me correct, someone shot an 8 footer at Lewisville a few years ago. PETA got all kinds of upset over that one.

I have seen what I am pretty sure is a gator den on JP. It was in the back of the first big cove on the south fork of the lake, past the bridge going west. Way back in the back. I did not get out and check it for critters, but it had a slide into the water.

There was a confirmed 12ft gator at the nature reserve on Lake Worth. It was on the news a couple years ago. He's been going out past the bridge to the main lake " casino beach"
