Galveston daily news sport/fishing section report first ling caught over the weekend at the south jetty. That is a good sign we might head of to a good year of fishing. Not to mention already a good black drum run that people are experiencing. The come back of sheeps head in good numbers as I already observing that is going on right now.Last few years I notice a decline. All the sheeps I caught had some kind of flesh eating bacteria on them. There flesh literally falls of as they flip flop around on the pavement.I was getting worried those fish might get wipe out or something but lots of report everywhere are proving they are making a come back plus the change in size and bag limits really helps. So everyone lets go fishing. There's a fish out there with your name on it waiting to be caught.

Headed to Seawolf tomorrow morning. Hopefully it won't be too crowded. I've gotten some different stuff to try, spoons, live crabs and live shrimp.

I don't care what I catch, I just want to catch. laugh

I understand some of the jetties are being made more accessible to use less motive people. Is this true? Can I get out on some of them with out climbing over rocks? I would like to make a trip to Galveston but afraid I won't be able to access the jetties or and not of the piers are ready yet.

Grandpa75672,

I see last monday some jetty close with FLAGSHIP HOTEL(right and left side) having ciment on the top of the jetty and easy to walk on the jetty.

some jetties do have paved tops and others dont. the problem is when you set the hook and reeled them in you have to get on the rocks to get the fish in. my husband slipped last yr at the surfside jetty and had to have surgery on his hand. cost us over 25 thousand dollars and his hand is still in the process of being rehabed. we have decided that from now on just piers for us and until the piers in galveston are rebuilt we go all the way to corpus to fish now
