Dont be to dissapointed, Iv been fishing Fork since 96. Biggest fish thats ben put in myboat is 8lbs. The potential is allways there for the catch of a lifetime. Keep chunking and remember, a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work..... Tell us what the biggest fish is from Caddo, little bigger than 8#'s huh?

I recently took a trip to Fork and had a blast. My biggest fish of the day was also (only) around 7 pounds haha, but the trip was unbelievable. I was recommended Ronnie Kelley from another guide that was booked and I'm glad I made the call. I've been to Fork several times and have had successful trips, but nothing like my trip 2 weeks ago. We had over 30 fish between 4-7 pounds. Lake Fork has to be one of the only fisheries in Texas that produce sooo many strong and healthy fish. Ronnie had the fish located and knew how to catch em. In fact early the morning he would point to weed beds and tell me the size of the fish I was about to catch. In my line of work I take several customers fishing and hiring a guide is normally a sure bet to have success. I was VERY impressed with the trip and can't wait to convince another customer to go so we can use Ronnie again. I believe his website is... www.easttexasprobass.comI definitely don't mean for this to be a sales pitch, but after a trip like that I have to recommend him!

I have been bass fishing hard for about 12 years. I only have 2 fish that break the 10lb mark. I have a 9-4. Caught some 7's and 6's, but not too many. 10lb'ers+ just arent near as common as you might think. Also, Fork is a world class fishery. It does have LOTS of big bass in it, BUT...it is HEAVILY pressured! Those bass arent stupid and have seen it all. Also Florida strain largemouth just arent typically as agressive as the northern strain. So to catch a 7 there on your first trip, is awesome! That is more than anyone could ask for. There are guys that have fished Fork regularly for years and years who are GREAT bass fishermen who have yet to join the double digit club.

I would be pretty darn happy catching a 7 lber... probably do cartwheels right off the end of my boat. If I'm ever lucky enough to catch a 10 lber you'll hear me yellin' from the next state over. Iaconelli won't have nothin' on me.

I understand what he is saying, but disappointment might not be a good word to use in the title. Maybe, "good day fishing with no 10 punders" would be more appropriate. Fork does have a majestical reputation, but something that a lot of people don't realize is how many folks actually fish that lake this time of year. There are literally hundreds of boats on that lake from sun up to sun down. From Minnisota, Georgia, and further. And you get maybe 2 or 3 pictures a day of someone who caught a 8 or 9+lb fish.... Thats less than .5 percent, and that's on the high side of estimating. I know a lot of people who fish that lake and know that lake very well, and only 2 of them have caught fish over 10 lbs. We don't need to bust his balls, but he also has to be a realist. Every fish in that lake has seen a black and blue jig, white spinner bait, black 10" worm (pun totally intended)and a watermelon anything. That lake will whip you for 10/20/30/100 trips in a row, and then you get a good one. Sounds like JT, has about 10/20/30/100 Lake Fork fishing trip whippins coming to him. Just kidding JT. All be safe on the water and happy fishing.
