I've noticed that there is less green grass the last month than there was two months ago in numerous areas.
Did they spray it or did the cold weather affect it?

cold weather and the gorilla grass on the shore is going to keep some of the sunlight from penetrating. I think by July we will have nice heavy hydrilla again.

Thanks for the reply uncle j.

I was just curious due to the meeting they had a few months ago where they discussed the different types of vegetation and the potential to spray.
I was there this last weekend and fished from mid lake to the south end and it appeared to me that the grass is dying when it should have been growing IMO.

Some areas have been slower than usual at growing good grass. I relate this to a late snow - cold water. Many other local lakes are having the same problems.
On the flip side areas like eugene ditch, wolf and coon creeks are making a strong comeback. We should have plenty in the next 6 weeks.
Good question!

Thanks "It's a fluke"
I guess the lake staying so stained this year has an affect as well. Or at least the three times I've been there it has been stained.

I agree - it got really cold this year and killed the shallow grass like milfoil, coontail, etc.. The stained to muddy water is due to the amount of rain we've had along with high winds blowing across points and banks with no grass to hold the soil. I'm praying for no rain, or winds for about 3 weeks. I miss the clear green waters we're used to.

It was in the very low 40's for over two months and muddy. There was ICE covering the shallows for 3days at one point the whole back of Willaims creek was iced over for 3 days I know this for sure...it will come back once the water clears some...
