 So I go to Choke Canyon the other day...(not fishing)

My bass boat is in the shop getting its yearly once over but I had the day off and thought it would be a good day to head to choke for some photos. On the way down, I see this harris hawk off of a dirt road:  Further down almost to Choke the wild flowers are really kickin this year:  &  So I finally get to the lake. I went for two reason, to get a good in flight shot of a Osprey and of a Northern Jacarna. Well I din't find the Jakarta but I did see the Osprey and got a crappy shot (next time I guess):  Then I see this egret in the 75 acre lake:  Lastly, I got a decent shot of a Swainsons hawk:  As for fishing, I ran into an older couple with at least 40-50 3-6 pound blues and channel cats. So I think I'm going very soon to do some cat fishing  Jason

Great pictures! I have to ask about the Jakarta though. I've never heard of a Northern Jakarta and can't find any mention online of a bird with that name. Is the Northern Jakarta a bird?

Gotcha. That's a cool looking bird! Hopefully you can get a picture of one that's half as cool as the ones you posted above.

what camera can take pictures like that. SLR???? i really do not think i can afford one but i really love to take nature pictures and pictures at Cowboys games.
