I am in need of some feedback and input from my customers that use TNT Slabs and shop for them at Academy Stores. This is the best way for me to target my customers that fish for Sand Bass, Hybrids/Stripers in obtaining information that might be helpful to me. I have a meeting at the end of this month with Academy in regards to TNT Slabs with their stores for the fishing season 2011. The things that we will be looking at is possible expansion to more stores, product placement, possibly adding 2oz slabs, pricing. I got into 16 Academy stores last year around August, as listed below. What I need to know, what has been your experience with purchasing slabs at these stores? Things like ease of finding them, maybe you would like to see them in other cities, selection of baits offered-whether it be size or color. All of this kind of feedback is helpful for when I go visit with them. You can post your feedback here, pm me, or shoot me an email at bryonnolan@yahoo.com I value the opinions of my customers and their help in helping me see which direction I go with this retailor. Good feedback or bad feedback makes me no difference, I just need a little help on this. Thanks to all for your support.

Bryon,

I shop at the one in Mesquite. I am happy your 180's are there. I have bought MANY from there. There seems to usually be a good variety but the chartrouse sell out fast, in my expierence. The only thing I would say about the one in Mesquite is that your lures are typically on the very bottom row. If you haven't seen where they are or you don't know where to look, you could miss them. I would ask them to have better isle placement. The biggest positive for me about being at Academy is that it is instant gratification. No negatives that I have expierenced.Hope that feedback helps.

Been fishing three times this year and I haven't tied on a 180 YET! No wonder I haven't caught anything! You can't fix stupid!

Byron, I have checked the Dallas Forest Lane store several times over the last month or two and have never seen your slabs there. Maybe they have been sold out, not sure. The last time was probably 2 weeks ago. Hope that helps.

Bryon, FYI...a week ago I was at the Acedemy in Plano (N Central Expressway) and was browsing the slabs section. I did not see any TNT's.

How about some aroung austin. We fish Lake Travis a lot for whites, as well as Granger, Belton, and Canyon Lake. I would sugggest the Brodie Lane store in Austin, the Round Rock and Cedar Park stores.

If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

In a world of compromise.....Some don't.

Please see if you can get them at the store in North Forth Worth (Keller/Watauga), on North Tarrant & Hwy 377. That's a pretty new store, but I live near there and shop there TOO much! Thanks for making and marketing a great lure!

I went to this Academy 00079 W Plano 3305 Dallas Pkwy, Suite 301 on Sunday and they had a good selection of the TNT Slabs, 3/4, 1 and 1.5 oz if im not mistaking. They had them placed on the front of the aisle and were easy to see and find. Love the slab and glad to see your doing well and expanding with Academy

Sure enought TNT= Trolling Nolan's Tackle, slab is what the fishermen in these parts call a lead based spoon, like jigging spoons. Different shapes creates different actions, some flutter, some fall fairly quickly. Slabbing is a technique that when figured out can be very beneficial to you on your fishing trips. A slab spoon probably is probably one of the most versatile lures you could ever put in your tackle box. If you are interested in techniques about slab fishing feel free to check out my website www.tntslabs.com , you will be able to see many different types of slabs, or give me a call on my cell phone after 5pm some evening 580-318-1391. I cant show you a lot but I can help you out on what to look for and what to try while out on the water.

Thanks for the store suggestions they are noted and will be brought up with the buyers. I would at least like to see 1oz sized 180's at many different Academys. I once discussed with the buyers potentially being in 50-60 stores, so that is the direction that I am hopeful of getting to. Keep giving me more suggestions on the cities or towns you would like to see them at. It really helps if you mention the lakes that those stores support in those areas, and make mention of if they have whites, stripers/hybrids. It is possible that 2oz sized TNT's could be added to some stores.

Here is what I have run into with most of the stores, the TNT's are not always where the other slab spoons are located at. Their reasoning for this is that I didn't take on as many stores as the other vendors so I dont get the best placement for my products. Well, we will work on changing that if I take on more stores. I know that at some stores they are on end caps, or down really low where you can hardly even see them. I needed one year to get some things set up and to figure out how things work with doing business with the larger stores. Now hopefully we can take on more with them and grow. I appreciate the feedback I am getting on here on the open forum, and from many of the pm's I have been getting.

For all of you who get your baits at Academy many thanks to you. Even the ones that move my baits out to where they can be seen, anyway thanks to all you good folks can help me is appreciated. Hopefully all things go well with this meeting and we continue to grow with Academy.
