Guys I have little to no experinece with locating or catching crappie. I have a place in Brownwood and we did fairly well with a bobber and minnow, but lots of little ones. Some of guys we ran into were jigging and have double number of keepers. I dont know much about the techniques or tubes and other lures.

All I can suggest is that you watch the posts here for successes at other lakes. I haven't seen much for O.H.Ivey lately (except for 9 Share Lunker Trash Fish 1 of which was worth $6670 ) That may be the problem, all those 13#+ fish have eaten all the crappie. Don't know anything about Lake Brownwood either. By looking at posts here, you'll get loads of information that you'll then have to sort through and find which techniques and patterns apply to your waters. I'd almost guarantee that there's something happening somewhere in these posts that'll work for you. Good Luck.

There are volumes the regulars here can share good advice with you, but joining "Crappie Anglers of Texas" is one of the best investments you could possibly make.
It only cost $20 for a year and it gives you access to all the seminars given at the meetings over the last year. The club is filled with folks wanting to help each other catch crappie. The meetings are in dallas, but we have folks driving from near Houston to meetings each month.

If your budget allows it, a day with a local crappie guide can slam dunk you into some understanding of your local waters and the seasonal patterns.

Couldn't agree more... went out with Double D on lake Granger in Central Texas after attempting to figure it out myself. Wound up fishing a tournament 2 weeks later because of the tips I got during the guided trip. Well worth the money to learn the 'secrets' from the guys who do it day in and day out.
