Well it's been a great weekend here in Southern Oklahoma for fishing. Yesterday I was able to put together a 17 pound bag in the Texoma ABA and today I caught my biggest Oklahoma stringer.

Today we had four boats go out to a local public lake. It was for bragging rights and fun to see what size limits we could catch.

We got on the water around noon and fished until 4:30. My friend and I started looking for big females on beds. I had the trolling motor on high and was on a mission, scouting the banks for locked on bed fish. The only beds I was finding though, were empty. I counted over two hundred empty beds and we decided to make a plan B.

Instead of site fishing, we now grabbed the T-rigs and started fishing deeper grass. This started produces bites and fish very quickly. A Texas rigged senko made by A&M baits was my goto weapon for the day. I ended up catching 16 fish for the day, with the smallest being 2-1/2 and the biggest was 8 pounds.

Our best five went 28.55 pounds with an 8 pound kicker to really help the bag out. The big female had already spawned, wish I could have caught her before she had.

I have had more fun fishing the last six days. Sore thumbs, boating lots if fish and spending time with friends. The high fives, hoopin and hollering, the excitement of catching and being on the water. Seems like I started letting the competion part take over and headache take over the past year or so. Glad I'm thinking straight again. Lol
