This post has went far enough guys. I am going to lock this one. When a post becomes personal and it just keeps going back and forth it is time to move on.
Good fishing to all.

OK, I talked to Trent... I cleaned this up. Yall please be civil it is not even winter time yet As far as keeping fish... If any body does what is in their legal right it doesnt matter. If somebody does not like the limit, write your concerns to TPW. Thank you and have a nice day.

TxCatfish, What is 5% of 1,000,000? Over four years, that is a large # of fish and that is assuming that only 5% make it. The number could be less, it could be more. Take what u can eat and leave the rest. Redfin is so right about not being able to find a certified scale near fairfield. It would be impossible on a friday or saturday evening and even more difficult on a sunday. Even if u caught the record, it would be tough to get it weighed the same day or even within three days on certified scales. After the first day, your fish may no longer be a record. Good luck to whoever catches the record and catches it fair. Nice Fish guys and keep up the good work.

Thanks John
The park office has scales that must be certified because a couple years ago I took some people out in which fishin247's little brother got in the record books by landing the youth state and lake record blue catfish. So if the park office is open that might be an option.

Well, maybe Fairfield is on the upswing again. I know it is no sure bet to catch a red on that lake, although I have caught a number over the years. I have been on MANY trips fishing for them and come up with squanto. For there to be so many there, they know how to hide really well.... Maybe night fishing works better, I dunno.

You know what is kinda of wild to me ,is that you don't even need a fishing license to fish off the bank at a state park and you can still take a limit of whatever fish you catch home pretty cool .Like I posted earlier I like Calaveras lake in SA but since i've found out about Fairfield and Tradinghouse know I don't have to travel so far to hook up with THE STRONGEST FIGHTING FRESH WATER FISH (THE RED DRUM) oh ya by the way I love to read these posts when you guys are bickering back and forth the heck with reality tv this stuff is great see ya

I have always said, that if redfish would surface and jump out of the water..I would not fish for anything else..LOL....but I guess I cannot have it all....
Anyway, thanks for cleaning it up John.....good post too. I had also emailed Trent.
I am not sure why others want to complain about anybody doing something they have a legal right to do........so lets not do that anymore.
Nice trip, nice stringer and good info.

Stripaholic, I believe I witnessed that young man catching the whopper blue cat and even have a picture of it on my site. Didn't know it was a record, cool beans! http://users.myexcel.com/metromonte/dsc00660.jpg We were there Friday night for a few hours. We drifted weightless goldfish but had no takers. We met MO at the dock as he was getting bait. It was his report that brought us to Fairfield that night so it was pretty cool to see him there. We left around 2:00am then decided to fish RC on Saturday. Looks like we chose the wrong lake. Monte

Hey metromonte, Thanks for posting this websight... http://users.myexcel.com/metromonte/dsc00660.jpg That is my brother that caught that fish about a year ago. We went out with Trent about a year ago and he caught it all by his self. It was the youth lake record and the Youth State record on rod and reel and I think it is to this day. I will have to show him that this is on there at 15 years old he will feel special that his pic is on the internet thanks man!!!
