i completley disassembled and cleaned/greased all the gears and bearings on my spinning reel. the bail works fine (im amazed) but the gears are making a odd grinding noise and its not smooth at all. at first i thought it was the roller bearing but i took it apart again and it looked fine. now im thinking it has something to do with the drive gear and pinion gear. any ideas?

if the saying "insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result" is true, then 99% of bass anglers are aparently insane.

If it wasn't doing it before you took it apart make sure your washers are back in the correct order and that the gears are full seated

Take it to a reel repair shop and maybe the next time he needs something you do or sell, he'll come to you. You've tried the quick fix. It didn't work. Now, take it to a pro.
