Vanish is ****, I don't think many here will disagree. Has a lot of breakage problems like the sunline we had in stock. (I sent back 3 spools of each after we got numerous complaints)
Floroclear is flourocarbon coated, (as is vanish and sunline) but I haven't had or heard of any problems with breaking or knots slipping like I did with the other 2.
The real PURE flourocarbon is nice, the price tag makes me cringe but lots of people swear by it. Seems to be a very limp line (I have only used 12lb pure pline flourcarbon a half dozen times) and seems to sink better than mono or braid fishing weightless.

I am going to be a little one sided, but I like P-line. I used to use Silver Thread Excalibur until Academy quit carrying it. I tried P-Line and have never touched anything else. I rarely backlash with it and it has good strength and low memory. I usually use Premium 12lb or the strong 17 or 20lb. I haven't tried the Vanish so I'd like to hear from the Vanish guys also.

Vanish is trash!!!!!! The last 2 spools of P-Line I got from Academy is so old it was breaking when I was casting my lures out, so all I use is Sufix now.

I was getting breakoffs setting the hook on 2 - 3 lb. LMB's using a brand new roll of the flouroclear for the first time. I was using a limber rod that day and the next with brand spankin' new Gamakatsu hook......in other words, I wasn't putting much effort into breaking them. And as I told the P-Line customer service guy on the phone a few days later, I have NEVER-EVER had ANY line break that easy.I told him I had been using their X-tra strong in a 12 to 14 lb. test and was very happy with it...man you could pull stumps with it. But had issues with line memory so I gave the Flouroclear a try 1n a 10 lb. size. I use the improved Trilene knot...preffering it over a palomar personally, and the P-line fella said it was a good knot to use with their lines.
So he suggested I bump the flourclear up to 12 lb. and take the X-tra strong down to 10 lb. and check my results....he then sent me a free roll of each. The service was excellent..for sure. I have been using both now for several months and have yet to have a reoccurance of the problem. 12 lb Flouroclear and 10 lb, x-tra.

I use 10# P-Line Flouroclear on my minnow rods (whites, crappie and such) and 12# Vanish Transition on my catfish rods. I've pulled in really big tree branches with the Vanish before, and have gotten hung up more than once with it when I genuinly had a dificult time getting the line to break and I'm 6'5 and weigh 260. The only thing that I really dislike about the Vanish is it's line memory. Next time I respool the cat rods, it'll be with P-Line xtra-strong I believe.
As far as the Flouroclear goes, I've never had any trouble with it breaking. I've caught many good sized whites and some big blacks with it, and breakage has been a non-issue for me thus far....

I have been using Vanish both for blacks and as leaders for stripers and have no problems with it.

I use the 12# xtra strong and have few problems other than memory. I think Duckcreek Davey may be referring to the regular clear P-Line, I had people tell me it would get brittle, but didn't heed the warning. Lost two good fish just a few minutes apart. It seemed more like sewing thread. Also had problems with it breaking on the hook set. Also agree w/ Cameron, and use flourocarbon for wacky worms and weightless lizards.

I just quit using Vanish Flurocarbon as my leader material due to breakoffs on my carolina rigs. Switched to Seaguar this past week, but don't have enough time on the water with to give any feedback.

I have P-Line on almost everything, I also have a reel spooled with vanish, have not had any problems with it yet but it is a lot harder to cast than P-Line and is not near as limp. I am going to have to try the improved trilene knot that DD posted above.

I only have about 1spool experience with Vanish. I broke fish after fish off and when I added up all the gear and fish I lost I vowed to never use it again. I even hiss at it when I walk by it in the store.
P-Line is absolutely what is spooled on my rods.

Most Florocarbon line sucks, they break after a few weeks of being used. It is much better to use mono and then tie Floro LEADER material, not line as leader. Pline makes leader as does most other brands. It is much stronger and abrasion resistant compared to Floro lines.

I use the #14 vanish as a leader on my striper and hybrid live bait rigs. I have not had any problems landing double digit fish. I am not sure what I am doing right, but if I figure it out I will let you know I have never tried P-line so I cannot compare it...
