Either will work fine.

Baitcast unless it's a little 3 inch size, then spinning.

If you want to skip under docks and over hanging tree Spining reels are the way to go. If your fishing heavy cover and wood then go with a casting reel. As far as a push botton reel. Give it to a kid to use.

The high retrieve ratio of some of the baitcasters makes them highly effective for certain types of fishing and making lots of casts. But like I said, some people only fish spinning gear. I use both, but for Senkos, I stick with baitcasters.

Excellent advice!

Gotta go with Baitcast! ANd that has nothing to do with the fact that I can't use a spinning reel and my daughter won't let me use her spincast!

I use both, depends on the situation. By Both I mean a spinning rig and a baitcaster rig.

I use my spinning rig to skip worms back under dock or low lying limbs. I use my baitcasters for all other scenerios

I use both, but when it comes to highly precise casting, baitcast all the way.

But don't you guys who use both find a spinning rig is easier to throw in most conditions? The only time a prefer a baitcaster is when I'm trying to hit close targets (fliping). Most of the time I'm throwing weightless stick baits I'm hitting longer range targets and trying to be a little stealthy.

I am way more accurate at any distance with a baitcaster. I couldn't hit a target with a spinning reel to save my life, especially in wind.

2 me it also depends on line size you want to use, if they are line shy wacky rigged on 8 lbs flouro will get A LOT of bites... But scary if you get one in the thick stuff or around a dock with lots of pilings... easy to skip a spinning set up

comes down to prefferance, how fast you want the bait to sink? how muddy is the water... How well do you cast a baitcaster?

Yeah, I guess it's what you're comfortable with. I've been throwing spinning stuff for 45 years. All I can say is if you get comfortable with them, they have their place in your rod box.
