One of the many benefits of kayaking is the ability to retrieve snagged lures, either by applying pressure with the kayak, paddling over to reach the lure or gaining a better angle to pull the lure free. This is a huge advantage over bank fisherman and even boaters. And when those bankers and boaters do get snagged, kayaking yields another benefit: recovering THEIR lures! Mwa Ha Ha!

These 7 lures have been recovered on the banks, trees and stumps of the trinity river recently, some have been repaired and found a home in th eactive tackle box, others will be repaired, repainted and reassigned for active duty. For just the cost of split rings and spare hooks (and sometimes paint, some of these are getting "blacked out" for murky conditions/night fishing) you can resurrect yourself someone else's RatLTrap, Yozuri Darter, Bagley Stick, etc. Anyone care to identify the others? So remember, when your out fishing, you can also be recovering your next lure.
Fish on,
Salsa

Salsa you'd get a striper lure stiffie, if'n you went a wading below the Denison dam

Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

My kayak just about paid for itself in saved lures.

During white bass season I could expect to lose 3-4 lures per trip bank fishing/wading to rocks, logs etc. Even in my john boat its a hassle to pull anchor, crank the motor, etc and go get a lure.

In a kayak you just paddle over to the lure and work it till it comes loose. I lost exactly one lure this year, only because I cast it about 15 ft up in a tree. LOL

Nice collection, Salsa. Last week I plucked three Roadrunners from the same tree - just like picking apples.
