Fished with first time customers Richard(buggywhip) and his freind Larry...First off let say it was WINDY...second it was WINDY...and third these 2 guys are great to fish with and apparently are nuts laugh laugh I told them it was going to be windy.....We ended the day with 56 fish...mixed in some cats, small hybrids, the fishing wasent the greatest, but every time I would find fish it was hard to stay on top of them with 25mph winds....Guys, thanks and it was an adventure. Saw Steve Bradbury and Billy Seaman out their also....I think Steve had a pary of 4 and ended the day with 80. He will post and tell you it was WINDY laugh laugh

Hey John after I spoke to ya on the hump and left to catch live bait, well needless to say I never made back sunk my boat but made it to the ramp close to were Billy and I were staying. Darn the bad luck. Billy did very well with my Dad and a few of the other co-workers that was part of our group. One trip 14 hybrids up to 8#, another trip of 10 up to around 7#, then I finally got to go with Billy Saturday evening and he caught a 9.75 and I caught a 8#, it was a greatweek-end all except the boat thing. Finished of this morning on schooling Magnums with BirdDog(Brad)and slayed them every cast. But still no let up in the wind.

Yep it was windy. Friday evenign there was not enough wind and yesterday too much, looks like the same today, wonder about tomorrow, I am resting today and back at it again early tomorrow morning.
Let's see I saw Varner's Guide service, Shadbury guide service, someone else with a decal on side that I did not recognize, and Birddog and myself taking out folks for 2 days.
My thanks for Birddog for some fine cooking and for the use of neighbor's dock, even caught 6 nice Crappie in 30 minutes from it. smile

Windy windy windy, thought about entering the regatta going on at the lake, if I had a boom for my t-top. I could have. We had 80 fish, 78 sb and 2 cats....6 hybrids under 16 inches...we only drifted sassy shad twice and after a hang up on each one, we choose to just slab. This was a donated trip and we did not leave Fort Worth until 6. Really would have liked to have been on the surfacing sandbass, but what can you do...My anglers were all asleep on the way home by 7 points.. laugh Two hook rig with the jig and slabbed really saved us as we put a quick 32 in the boat, but the 80lb thrust trolling motor could hold us in 25 plus winds.

Good to see Varner and his group! Also, talked to Birddog and Billy a couple of times.

Oh yeah, it was windy!

I got to fish with Ernest Paty to learn how to shoot docks for crappie and we caught a bunch of them but getting that 1/16 jig in the right spot is hard but with practice if you get way back under the docks you will catch them. Then Billy showed up to help with my group from work and with my boat and Billy's we put a dent in CCs population of hybrids and SB. Thanks Ernest and Billy I had a great time. I know I have a biased opinion but I think for an all around great lake to fish CC is the best and is only getting better!! Steve it was good seeing you out there and John now that I know the boat I will be sure to stop by and say hello if I see you out there.

YEP it was windy, windy, windy and John is a great guy and and great guide to put up with two psycho's like me and Larry who "refused not to go fishing", had a great time and so did Larry in spite of the condition's ,John did a great job trying to stay on the fish with what the weathermen said were up to 25mph wind's wow we are definitly fishing fools!! But boy was I tired when we got back had one of the best night's of sleep I've had in a while I was wasted.I could imagine John would of really had us on fish in better conditions. laugh cool
Thank's again John for a great day

Haven't been to CC since Marrimac closed. Where is the best place to launch? I just hate CC Landing. The ramp is terrible. I have a 19' center console and I'll probably be by myself.

And it never sunk in laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

BobC..I remember you..but if you use CCL launch the boat and right to the right of the ramp you can beach your boat and go park....other then that, I would not launch by myself at dons port...too much walking.....you might try fishermans wharf....
