Has anyone fished and have been successful at the pond near 410 and 90. It's kind of hidden and right next to some apartment complex and near a hotel.

I was actually there yesterday. its a pretty cool spot very good for little sunfish and small bass. your best bet is probably fishing with live worm. i used everything in my tackle box with no results, but as soon as i threw that chunky worm in they went crazy.

I haven't been back to that spot but I drive by it every morning? Glad to hear that there is something in that thing. So the worm did the trick huh? I think i'm gonna take my rod to work and hit that place up after work. Thanks for the input. I wonder if there are any catfish in there?

I went again today, this time a little more prepared. i had swung by academy and picked up some worms but also decided to try some berkly crappie nibbles, and i am so glad i did. the fish were going crazy and couldnt resist the tiny little yellow pellets. but when that got a little slow i switched to worms and casted to the middle of the pond near fountain and sure enough caught some tiny little hogs maybe 2-3 pounders. as far as catfish goes i havent seen or heard of any in there, but then again it never hurts to try.

2-3 lb. bass? Wow that's pretty awesome can't wait to try it. It doesn't look like it's fished too often. I don't see many people out fishing. I fished it about a month ago for about 30 minutes on my way to calaveras. I use some beetle spin lures, and small spinner bait and had a couple of bites but no dice on landing one.

Went to the pond after work today and it awesome. Used some worm and the bluegill were all over it. I also caught a nice size LMB. I hate all the algae on the pond. Will definitely be out later this week.

Feliz Cinco de Mayo a todos,

Went by there today (crooked trail), once again taking a fishing break from finals, and the only thing I caught was a glimpse of a LMB right by the concrete retaining wall. I tried some Texas rig and drop shot worms all around the pond with no luck, that algae is ridiculous! Wish I had access to one of those reed beds, bet there's some beauties in there.

What size weights did you guys use on your worms or crappie bites? Size hooks?

I tried all types of spinning baits and worms in that pond with not one bite. I tell you what, the only thing that works is live worms! I just used a small hook and a drop shot weight with a bobber. Cast it in and you will see the bluegill and bass hitting it like crazy. I went out there the second time with just lures and the cappie bites and I didn't so much as get a bite. Live worms are the trick. It's a fun place to spend a few catching large bluegill and small sized LMB. I have seen some people fishing that spot that take those bluegill home on a stringer! Com'on what's the deal with people doing this? Just catch and release and let others have fun too. Anyway, hope you have a good time out next time.

You weren't kidding, I caught all kinds of blue gill today, a big goose egg for LMB however, but still fun. Turtles also helped themselves to my worms.

I met a guy there that works for the city of San Antonio named Jerry who apparently helps keep up the pond. He told me that there are about 50 Coy fish (about 20#-30# a piece) there as well as loads of cats. He also said that the record LMB in San Antonio was caught in Woodlawn Lake last year (I had previously heard that all fish in Woodlawn had died) Just decided to forward you that info. I may have to try that one out sometime soon.

Wow! Didn't know that there were any catfish in that pond, much less Koi! Next time I will take some trusty magic bait for the cats. It's a fun pond to keep busy catching bluegill and turtles. I have never tried woodlawn lake but will certainly have to try it one of these days. Have you tried calaveras. That place is good for cats? I never leave empty handed. Not alot of places to catch bass around here without a boat but I always give it a try. Well good fishing!

Woodlawn is terribly polluted, I had a couple bites, but no dice.

Stablewood Farms pond was a different story. Caught about 25 Bluegills and a couple LMB, some people next to me caught 2 huge turtles (not their intention), that was an adventure getting those hooks out.

Catch and Release as always.

Anyone have tips for millers pond or live oak city park?

Hello all. I live right by 410 and 90. I didn't even know this was there. I drive by there everyday. So it's legal to fish this little pond? It'd sure be nice to just drop by after work to wet a line for a little while. Does this little pond have lots of people fishing there?

I may not always be right but I'm never wrong.

Hey guys went by to check it out after work and it's not a bad place. There was one guy and his son fishing and there seems to be several spots where you can cast ok. There was ALOT of algae hopefully someone cleans it up sometime but for being 5 mins from home it will be a good place to kill a few hours after work sometimes. I'll take my gear next time and keep you updated.

i'm a regular @ live oak. Live minnows and crawfish are the baits i've had the BEST luck with. Caught a monster blue cat on the live craw and had some nice bass and channels eat the minnows. Dead shrimp on the bottom has worked well for channels out there as well.

go down toepperwein towards fm78 and hang a right on meadow forge and there's North Converse Park...some good bass fishing there and they even allow boats that aren't motorized in the lake.
