 O-ring didnt come out

I have a 1989 evinrude TETLCEA and was changing the impeller and when I removed the lower the little oring that sits right below the splines on top of shaft didnt come down with everything. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas.

maybe its gone its only there to keep the waterproof grease you coat the splines with in place, a lot of motors dont even have one , i dont see how it could remain there during disassembly, bet it just broke and fell out, stick another on

you can use a coat hanger and straighten it all out leaving a hook on the end to try and pull it out. Just "fish" it out,lol. Let me know if you can't get it still and I'll see what I can come up w/but u should be able to get it

I will try the coat hanger. I see the ring around the shaft where it looked like it had set. Or maybe I am so blind that it fell off and I didnt see it. Thanks for the help fellas.

i really think its gone as i said i cant see anyway it could remain behind being its below the splines
