I have an old Lowrance X-65 and am ready to upgrade. Just needed some HELP on the best GPS system to get // After reading the reviews on the HDS-7 Lowrance about the cust. service and the trouble that people are having with rain getting inside I'm not sure that I want to waste my money, although the reviews are mixed about 50% to 50%. PLEASE GIVE YOUR INPUT from the people that use them

there was a water issue in the hds units, but they have fix that problem now.

Had a lowrance X-65 for a long time along with a garmon GPS. After lots of research got a Humminbird 998si. Can't say enough good things about it. Got the navoinics maps upgrade with it - also very happy with that. Seeing under water this way is a game changer, and yes I am catching more fish. Don't waste time fishing "empty" water any more.
