Has anyone been having any luck with shallow crappie in the creeks? I took my wife and kids up Elm fork and we caught lots of sandbass but only a few crappie. Just wondering if the spawn is almost over or mabee just a bad day.

The fish are definitely spawning on RR in the creeks. Caught several last Saturday in water from 3 feet to 6 inches deep.

two of us fished Spring Creek pretty hard last Saturday, and had no luck, but we're not really good crappie fishermen. Sure as heck tried hard though....

We caught 30 today in the creeks. Sure was a rough ride back in to the ramp.

that's what cut us short on Saturday. That 4-6mph wind was about three times that.

Thanks cliff. Did yall ever do any good after we talked to you last Saturday in the creek? It was pretty rough when we went back to the ramp. I started talking to my wife about stumps and my little boy thought we were going to sink the boat, so I had to reassure him that we were not giong to sink. Other than that is was a great day.

Yeah, Ray Bob seems to always be more choppy than any other lake around here. 5mph wind will make it white cap! wtf?

Almost all north-south lakes in north Texas are that way

What do you mean north-south? You mean the dam being on the south end?

I dont think it madders much if the lake is layed out north to south or south to north its going to be choppy example Ray Bob VS Texoma in a south wind Texoma is easier to fish than Ray Bob.
