I'm somewhat new to this area and Joe Pool is the closest lake to me. And I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere decent to go around there?

sand bass galore. Hit lynn creek and go to the back boat dock. There's a sandy area by the "DO NOT SWIM/KEEP OUT" sign and the boat ramp. Cast out towards the middle of the lake towards the "NO WAKE" bouys.

Sene for ghost minnows right there too.

GL!

The crappie are getting real close spawning so that cove should start to have some fish in it soon too. They should be pretty easy to catch then too. Good luck!

lynn creek will let you go in for free if your a grand prairie resident. they dont tell you that but if you pull up and show them your driver license with GP address they ll let you in for free. otherwise its 10bucks. this lake does have alot of sand bass though bout the only thing i catch when i fish there.

Lloyd Park is always good this time of year for crappie.

I live on the north side of the lake by Camp Wisdom and Robinson. I have not been there yet but want to go.

You can jig under a slip bobber back there and walk away with some good ones.

Hey how do you get to Britton Park. I drove around the area last Sunday and got lost due to all the construction that has taken place over the last 8 years. I found Lloyd but could not find Britton for nothing.

I live in Grand Prairie and is just waiting for the sand bass to get back on the main lake. Then its on!! me and one of my buddy was on there last year. We must of caught about 50-60 sandbass within an hour. But only 27 were keepers.

Right now britton park is hot. just got home from there. fished the creek behind the boat ramp and brought home 21 keepers. (crappie) That creek will be hot as long as the weather stays good. will post pics as soon as i can.

I have been catching at the State Park in 2 foot of water, using a jig under a cork. Unfortunately mostly Joe Pool specials 9 3/4 inch long crappie.
