I am planning on going out to Fork tomorrow and have a pretty good idea of where and how I want to fish. However, the weather report says 30% chance of rain(which is no big deal) but it also says there will be 20 mph winds. My question is, how rough will it be and is there anywhere I can get out of the wind? thanks

where do ya wanna fish ?,...there's a few places I can fish in Mustang when the wind is up,..I put in at Popes (usually out of the wind) and I don't have too far to go depending on the wind direction,..be careful.

I was going to fish near wolf and maybe up in caney and birch..do you think with wind that high it will be manageable?

Fork has so many coves and the fish are shallow...Mustang, Little Mustange, Williams, White Oak are all good for getting out of the wind.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Here is my advice. I have had back to back 30 fish days on Fork the past two days fishing directly in the 20mph wind and grinding it with the trolling motor.

Depends on your boat. 20mph winds on Fork aren't bad at all as long as you don't mind a little spray. You can fish Fork all day in a 17 or 18 foot boat at 20mph. Wolf, Birch and Little Caney have plenty of protected water in a north wind situation. You will have plenty of company. The fun part will be getting there but it won't be bad.

I have plenty of confidence in my BassCat Sabre 18ft boat getting there in these winds, at least I think!

you got to use that 18ft sabre to know for sure I thought. Never a lot of wind in that garage.
