Sunday will be my first attempt at Inks. Not so much for the huge bluegill, rather to try out a location I haven't fished before now. Is anyone else thinking of going out there?

My folks once had an exchange student from Austria. He saw me bringing fish to my folks and he decided he wanted to catch some fish, so he went out, bought a rod and tackle, and he caught fish.... Only thing is his bluegills were about 2oz. I wasn't living at home at the time, but stopped by for a visit. What do you suppose he did with them fish? He got an GI Joe from a box of old toys my folks had stashed, and took off one of Joe's arms, then laid it on a plain white back ground with the fish along side of it..... and popped some pictures. Man those bluegills looked as long as your arm! This was in the days way before photoshopping. Anyways, he felt better cause he had some pics for his girl to admire back home.

I took the guy fishing with me a time or two after that, but he just never seemed to get the hang of it.

So, yeah, they do get as big as an arm.... sorta.

No offense but I don't believe anything without seeing some pictures anymore. There are too many reports with no pics, you know what I mean? This thread should be at the bottom of the bluegill section not near the top. Talk about expert trolling.

I agree NF, pics or it didn't happen. Well I did go out to Inks and have my $5 window pay stub to prove it. No pics because......I didn't catch a anything. Hundreds of campers, tons of kids on the bank and docks (2 of them) and not a single sunfish caught. Not saying Inks doesn't have it's day. It just wasn't this weekend, for me or anyone I talked to. I wont be back there for awhile. Does look like it could produce some crappies on the docks at night as there are timed lights on the dock. .

Just because you didn't catch any fish when you went, doesn't mean that the lake or spot doesn't hold good fish...no reason to use this "I didn't catch a !@#$%^& thing" , that there says alot about an individuals character and personality. And you complain about the daily entrance fee for a state park? You didn't have to go and you didn't have to enter the state park...sounds like you are complaining about several things, who knows?

Any number of factors could have contributed to the lack of fish (falling barometer, large predator fish at that location after their prey, large turtle, etc.).

I've fished Inks and it has a good population and diversity of fish species and have caught some good size bream off the pier, hand-size but not have the length of an arm!

It would have been nice the have the original poster to list the picture of the huge/gigantic bream he/she caught at Inks Lake for all to see like he/she said they would, but nothing yet.

Yep, I did jump the gun on the park daily pass, but I sure am not ignorant. Nice to know you served in our armed forces, I would have if my medical history didn't keep me from enlisting.

Not one place did I compare myself to God, and that is one individual who is above all of us, that I thank each and everyday for what He has pulled me through, so I don't need a lecture from you, thank you. On your last sentence, you can keep those remarks to yourself and not air them on here.

This isn't really that relevant, but I didn't feel it needed a new thread. What is considered 'huge' for a bluegill? Weight/ length? I catch them in local ponds all the time that are palm sized at around 6-8 inches.
