Hi! everybody, I need yall help my wife just bought me aboat so I can take her out for fishing she loves outdoor activity. Last week I took her out for fishing from morning till noon we didn't catch any fish we're so frustrated and she was dispointed. I would like to know if you fish for white bass or large mouth bass what type of jig that you are using and which point of the lake is good place to fish, I will appreciate it. Thanks.

If it's sandies that your after, start around the island. There are numerous humps starting at the island and headed east all the way to sandbass point. You can almost always find some there. If not, head directly north across the lake from the isalnd and you will find Murrel Park. It has a long underwater point where the sandies stack up to feed. Try both main lake points coming out of that cove because sometimes one is better than the other. You can also head west and stay on the south bank. You will find Meadowmere Park and a swim beach. Sandies like to surface in this huge flat in the mornings. After that, they move out towards the main lake and you can find them on the drops in 20-25 ft of water. If all else fails, head to the dam and fish around the aerator (bubbles). You can use small crappie type jigs, roadrunners, small spoons to catch these. You can also catch plenty of shad there and use them for bait. The sandies are there all summer long but it can get crowded with boats sometimes so I usually don't fish there. On the humps and points, you can catch them on topwaters if they are schooling. If not, watch your depthfinder and drop spoons, slabs or tailhummers. Grapevine Lake is a pretty easy lake to find them on and don't overlook watching for birds. Good luck.

Good advice from the previous post.
If all else fails, follow everyone else. There is almost always a "Boat show" to get involved in.
